In yoga we create tension to release tension.
Each pose leads the body in opposite directions,
up and down,
forward and back,
twist and straighten,
push and pull.
These opposites create a tension, which creates a space,
to unwind from a day of sitting to long,
to uncoil a repetitive physical motion,
to untangle emotional stresses.
On the mat we breathe into the space and let it go.
Yoga brings us back to where we once were.
